Cultivating our talent
In 2021 we released the first version of YamApp, an online training platform developed by Skilleyd Lab and accessible from any type of device without the need for installation. An extremely flexible tool, easy and immediate to use based on learning through continuous exercise and available to all employees of the Italian stores, both direct and affiliated, and at the head office.
How the YamApp works
The YamApp features a gamification structure that organises the training modules into interactive paths made up of short descriptions and micro-insights, each of which ends with a test on the concepts learned.
Following the success experienced in 2021, in 2022 we organised team championships in which all the resources were able to test themselves by participating and launching quiz challenges to members of the opposing teams.
Moreover, in November 2022 the YamApp was presented as a digital tool, during the European Employment and Social Rights Forum in Brussels, which officially launches the year of skills with the Pact for Skills initiative which Yamamay has joined.
In 2022, as was the case last year, it was found that individuals “at risk” are essentially those who have never activated any training path (about 14% for outlets, 24% of the network and 33% of head office staff).
A slight slowdown in activities was in any case noted with a higher percentage of non- active individuals compared to last year, from 18% to 24%. Head office staff, on the other hand, goes against the trend, with the percentage of inactive individuals decreasing from 41% to 33%.
This increase can largely be seen in stores and could be linked to a lower involvement of the District Managers, who have not been included in the 2022 championships.
Increase in active head office users
Benchmark: according to the latest studies, online training usually has a retention rate between 25% and 60%. The statistics collected to date show that employees who use the YamApp tend to train with a good degree of regularity: 78% of active users are regular. A very positive result, significantly higher than the average associated with traditional training and scientifically relevant.
Accuracy is the amount of participants’ average correct answers in each training session. At the beginning of a course, the Accuracy is lower than at the end: the effectiveness of the Test Out should therefore be higher than the average accuracy.

Average effectiveness of the Test Outs carried out
We already have confirmation that learning through the App is effective by comparing the Average Accuracy of the Quests (77%) with the Average Effectiveness of the Test Outs (85%, higher as it should be). The delta would be much higher if we took into consideration the Accuracy of the first training sessions against the Test Out.
During 2022, new training paths related to the topic of workplace Safety were included in the YamApp, with specific topics for the Head Office and for the Network:
|SAFETY IN THE OFFICE||RISKS IN THE STORE|
|THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE WORKPLACE||CHECKOUT COUNTER ERGONOMICS|
|WORK STRESS||MANUAL HANDLING OF LOADS|
|COMMUNICATION AND SAFETY AWARENESS||SAFETY IN THE EVENT OF ROBBERY|
Another new aspect this year is the introduction in the YamApp of so-called Control Tests, to verify the knowledge of network personnel on some specific collections such as the Beachwear 2022 Collection and the Christmas 2022 Collection.
