We are well aware that the development path towards a fully sustainable identity is still long and full of opportunities. We will need to be able to seize these opportunities to anticipate the future but, for our part, we cannot but be open and ready for the common good.

Dear Stakeholders,
we have lived through a year marked by unprecedented and unpredictable circumstances. A challenging time during which we had to look not only externally, to grasp the changes taking place in society and in the market, but also internally, to understand how we had changed, who we wanted to become and how we could have improved. But in challenging times, opportunities for development and growth, both personal and professional, are often hidden.

Like a ship weathering the storm, we held the rudder steady without ever losing sight of the course. During this turbulent “journey” we looked into each other’s eyes and, without speaking, we began to listen carefully to an environment that had become increasingly more silent and where truly important aspects were unveiled.

On this ship we understood that the only way to survive was by working together and we learned to trust each other more, to welcome new ideas and new people. And so, as we sailed these unknown waters, our crew strengthened their sense of community and opened up to others, reclassifying the traditional goals and embracing new and more holistic ones. Our Diana ODV Association is an example of our sense of community, focused on solidarity through concrete actions that benefit the most disadvantaged members of society, and in particular women and children. Our collaboration with UNHCR through projects to reintegrate political refugees into the working world is another perfect example of our commitment.

For us the sea, the bearer of life and the source of our livelihood, has always represented “The Resource” and the starting point for a sustainable approach. The sea is too often exploited and taken for granted.

With this in mind, together with the Caprera Sailing Centre and the One Ocean Foundation, we actively contributed to the creation of the M.A.R.E. Project (meaning precisely SEA in Italian), a citizen science programme in which Yamamay promotes the research and the dissemination of information on our seas and oceans. Another project focused on the same values is the RS21 Cup Yamamay, a five-stage racing circuit that sees Yamamay involved as the title sponsor. A project in the pursuit of sustainability, a commitment further reinforced by the drafting of our corporate “Sustainability Manifesto”, deeply rooted in respect for the sea, the use of natural elements and the choice of sponsors and sustainable partners.

Our philosophy based on ESG principles continues with the increasingly overwhelming desire to take advantage of natural resources and promote energy savings. Aspects we have implemented with the relamping and installation of photovoltaic panels at our Main Office, as well as with the installation of charging columns for electric cars and the introduction of full electric cars into the company fleet.

We believe that our strongly committed “crew” is a value to be taken care of, both through dedicated training initiatives, which accompany our people in their personal and their professional growth, as well as through the promotion of welfare-focused actions that allow us to build a new rapport with our collaborators.

Feeling responsible for the future of our people, we want to take concrete action on our supply chain, on the use of raw materials and on the choice of suppliers who share our values and philosophy. We have invested, among other things, in the development of a PLM system that can guarantee transparency and certify the supply chain.

We promote circular economy and responsible sourcing projects. The EDIT line is our pilot project and has been developed according to the principles of eco-design.

We are well aware that the development path towards a fully sustainable identity is still long and full of opportunities. We will need to be able to seize these opportunities to anticipate the future but, for our part, we cannot but be open and ready, for the common good.
